Which browsers are supported?
TeamPrompt is available for Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Microsoft Edge. All Chromium-based browsers (Brave, Arc, Vivaldi) can use the Chrome Web Store version.
Which AI tools does the extension work with?
The extension works with ChatGPT, Claude, Google Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, and Perplexity. We're continually adding support for more tools.
Is my data safe?
Yes. The extension runs locally in your browser. DLP scanning happens client-side before any data is sent to the AI tool. Prompts are synced from your TeamPrompt workspace over HTTPS.
Do I need a TeamPrompt account?
Yes, you need a free or paid TeamPrompt account. The extension uses your account to sync your DLP policies, prompt library, and preferences.
Can I use the extension without the web dashboard?
The extension works alongside the web dashboard. Admins manage prompts and settings on the dashboard, and team members access them through the extension in their browser.
Can I deploy the extension without users installing it?
Yes. Admins can push the extension to all managed browsers using Google Admin Console, Microsoft Intune, JAMF Pro, or Windows Group Policy. The extension installs silently, can't be uninstalled, and auto-updates. Go to Settings → Deployment to generate your MDM config.
Does the managed deployment need to be updated when the extension updates?
No. The deployment config tells the browser which extension to install. Updates to the extension itself are delivered automatically via the Chrome Web Store. You only need to re-deploy the config if you change your AI tool approval policy (blocked/allowed tools).
